Who we serve

Built for the organizations that run this part of Florida.

From a single office to a multi-site operation with hundreds of users, we support the industries that drive the Lake-to-Lagoon economy. Each one has its own systems, regulations, and busy seasons, and we know them.

🐂

Agriculture & agribusiness

Ranches, groves, dairies, packing houses, and processors. Connectivity across remote sites, cellular and satellite failover, rugged devices, and the herd, grove, and payroll systems the operation depends on.

🩺

Healthcare & professional practices

Medical, dental, home health, legal, and accounting. HIPAA-aligned email, backups, and encryption, EHR and practice-software vendor coordination, and the documentation an audit asks for.

🏪

Retail, hospitality & dealerships

Point-of-sale, guest Wi-Fi, cameras, and PCI-compliant networks across one location or a dozen. Built to stay up on a Saturday, because downtime at the register is lost revenue.

🛠

Construction, trades & logistics

Estimating, dispatch, fleet, and accounting platforms that work from the field. Secure shared files, job-site connectivity, and support for crews that are never at a desk.

⛪

Churches, schools & nonprofits

Member and donor systems, reliable livestreaming, nonprofit licensing programs, and support scaled to the organization, from a single campus to a district.

🏛

Government, utilities & districts

Cities, counties, utility authorities, water control and fire districts, and first responders. Procurement-ready and built around Florida’s public-records and cybersecurity requirements. See public sector →

What we do

Everything handled, for one flat monthly rate.

A full IT department if you don’t have one, or a local extension of the one you do. We quote per user or per site, in writing, after one visit.

🎧

Help desk & on-site support

Unlimited remote support and on-site visits when hands are needed. Same people every time. Phone, text, or email, and no ticket-portal runaround.

🛡

Cybersecurity

Multi-factor authentication, endpoint detection and response, email filtering, and staff training. Aligned to NIST, CJIS, HIPAA, and PCI as your situation requires.

⛈

Backup & hurricane recovery

Off-site backups tested on a schedule, with a written plan for the week after a storm. We rehearse the restore so you never find out the hard way.

☁️

Microsoft 365 & cloud

Email, Teams, SharePoint, and licensing done right. Migrations off old servers and secure access for staff working from the field or from home.

📡

Networks, Wi-Fi & cabling

Firewalls, switching, outdoor and long-range Wi-Fi, structured cabling, and connectivity for sites the cable company never reached.

📞

Phones, cameras & projects

Cloud phone systems, camera and access control, office moves, server refreshes, and fixed-price projects with a start date and an end date.

Why managed, not break/fix

Fixing it after it breaks is the expensive way.

Calling someone when the server dies, then paying by the hour, worked in 1995. Today one ransomware email or a dead server in September can cost an organization weeks of work, real money, and public trust. We prevent the outage instead of billing for it.

Most of our new clients come to us after the first time something went really wrong. We’d rather meet you before that.Big Water Technology

Municipal & public sector

Built to work the way government works.

Cities, counties, utility authorities, water control districts, fire districts, libraries, and first-responder agencies have requirements most IT shops have never dealt with. We have, and we structure our work around them.

Public dollars come with public accountability. That means clear scopes of work, fixed pricing that fits a budget cycle, documentation your clerk and auditor can use, and work that stands up to a public-records request.

Jan 1
2025deadline passed

Under Florida Statute 282.3185, every municipality under 25,000 residents was required to adopt NIST-consistent cybersecurity standards by this date, train every employee with network access within 30 days of hire and annually, and be ready to report incidents to the state. If your standards aren’t written down and your training isn’t logged, we can get you there quickly.

Procurement-ready. W-9, certificate of insurance, and references are ready on request. We respond to RFQs, RFPs, and informal quotes, monitor Bidnet Direct for Okeechobee County solicitations, and can work under cooperative or piggyback purchasing agreements where your purchasing policy allows.

About

Local first. That’s the whole point.

Big Water Technology is the managed-services practice of Competence Collective LLC, a Florida company, and it exists for one reason: the organizations between Lake Okeechobee and the Indian River Lagoon have been served by providers an hour or more away for too long. When something breaks, a truck from Orlando or West Palm is not the same as a technician who was already in town.

We live here, bank here, and shop here. Our team knows the roads, the growing seasons, the hurricane routine, and the people who run things. You will talk to the same people every time, your documentation stays yours, and you will never be sold something you do not need. Spanish-speaking support is available.

  • ✓
